Children’s Fairyland sparkles with holiday magic in December with Fairy Winterland, a weeklong extravaganza with live performances showcasing various cultures, daily appearances by Santa Claus, special decorations, and thousands of twinkling lights, rides, puppet shows, arts and crafts, and free cider and cocoa.

Throughout December, families can revel in the sparkle of the holidays with Fairyland’s annual Children’s Theater Holiday Program, special puppet performances of “The Nutcracker,” the popular puppet show “Hansel & Gretel,” and much more.

For one exciting week, December 15th through the 23rd, Fairyland will be transformed for our Fairy Winterland! The revelry will feature live performances celebrating holidays from many cultures, daily appearances by Santa Claus, special decorations and thousands of twinkling lights, rides, puppet shows, and arts and crafts. Also included are free holiday treats, cider and hot cocoa, and more thrilling surprises!

The park will be open special hours—from noon to 7 p.m., giving families a unique chance to see the wonders and magic of Fairyland at night. (Please note that on December 24th the park is open from 10:00-2:30.)

Fairy Winterland Celebration—Selected highlands

Here are just some of the highlights for the Fairy Winterland Celebration from December 15th through 23rd, during which the park will be open from noon until 7 p.m.:

  • Fairyland Tree Lighting Ceremony, 6:45 p.m. on Friday the 15th
  • Children’s Theater: “Children’s Theater Holiday Program” at 12:30 and 3:30 Friday, Saturday, Sunday, the 15th, 16th, and 17th. Whether or not you’re celebrating Christmas, the Solstice, Chanukah, Diwali, Ramadan, Kwanzaa, Las Posadas, or the Chinese New Year, the Fairyland Children’s Theatre Program sends out a message of peace, joy and light in their annual holiday show
  • Three performances of “Hansel & Gretel” each day at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:30 (11:00 and 2:00 on the 24th)
  • Many one-time performances you won’t want to miss, too—including the Pacific Boys Choir, fiery acrobats, magicians, storytellers, clowns, and musicians.
  • Santa will be a daily visitor, including when he leads the Festival of Lights Parade at 6:30 on Friday the 15th.

Visiting Fairyland

Starting November 4th, Fairyland operates on Winter hours, with the park open Friday through Sunday and National Holidays, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. With the exception of Fairy Winterland Celebration where the park will be open daily December 15th through December 23rd from noon to 7 pm.

* All open days are weather permitting. Admission to Children’s Fairyland is $6 per person, including rides and entertainment. Infants under one year are free. For safety reasons, no adult admitted without a child, and no child admitted without an adult.
