The Oakland Parks Coalition invites friends and lovers of Oakland Parks and Recreation Centers to conduct city-wide park surveys on Saturday, October 28 from 9 a.m. – noon.

Results of the surveys will be tabulated and submitted in a report to City officials.

If you care about our parks and want to support OPC’s effort to improve funding and maintenance for our parks, please join us.

Volunteers will report to the Garden Center (directions)at Lake Merritt to enjoy a continental breakfast provided by Keep Oakland Beautiful, a short program, and a survey training.

Each team will then be assigned to one city-council district to conduct surveys of several parks.

The surveys will be used to develop a baseline report to City Council and Mayor-Elect Dellums about the current state of our parks.

OPC feels that an objective evaluation by members of the user community is the best way to assess the level of care our parks are receiving; the survey will be conducted annually to show the progress being made from year to year.

We hope that you can spare a few hours of your time for this important undertaking and that you will refer others to us.

To be a survey volunteer email us at loveyourparksday@gmail.com or phone us at 510-287-2693. Please provide your full name, phone number, and city council district (or your full address) and we will get back to you with details of the event.
