Councilmembers Kernighan and Nadel host a community meeting this Thursday, June 26, at 7 PM to discuss ways to manage Lake Merritt’s profusely pooping population of geese. In his Rand Avenue succulent garden, Hayden Foell may be showing us a glimpse into the future of the California landscape given the severe drought predictions arising from Global Warming. He will discuss a proposal to landscape the Lakeshore Avenue off ramp (across from the future Trader Joe’s) this Thursday, June 7. Many of us worked for and looked forward to a different kind of administration. He told us he wasn’t superman and some of us were okay with that. So why now does it seem that our former congressman, our new mayor, our fighter for justice seems to have gone into a phone booth rather than out on the street, a sit-down with reporters, or a walk through the farmers’ markets?
